Coming Soon!

His fire chose him to save the island, not destroy it.

For centuries, the Varendar family has held back the darkness surrounding their sacred island. Sagis, the youngest, is throwing his heart and soul into refining his fire magic. Soon, guarding his people will be his duty and honor. But a routine training battle is sabotaged by Kavan, a man in a black suit of armor, who captures the dark magic and turns it on the family. As his mother dies in his arms, Sagis vows to hunt the man down.

He tempers his fire into a weapon capable of destroying the dark, then follows the killer’s trail to the Empire of Zol Marré. He finds Mom was only the beginning. Wielding the dark, the empire is coming back to conquer the island and claim the source of the Varendars’ magic. Only fire can stop them. But Kavan ambushes Sagis, steals his fire, captures his father, and vanishes into the sea.

Weaponless, with his island under siege, Sagis will pay any price to rekindle his fire. He’ll even turn to the dark. But his vengeance burns everything he’s fighting to save. To heal his island, he’ll have to save his enemies, and become the hero he always dreamed he could be.

Progress Report

I completed the first draft of Fireheart in 2018. Since then, I’ve rewritten it from scratch three times and it’s undergone countless edits. I’m currently searching for a literary agent. After this much work, it’s publication or bust!

Advance Praise From Beta Readers

I have been so encouraged by Fireheart on the daily. I am giving myself advice from your book as I run into difficulties and roadblocks and all the life stuff… I think I will keep that scene as a weapon I carry with me for the rest of my life! It makes me braver.

"Cordelia"

I LOVE Sagis’ voice… his personality, thoughts, and actions weave together seamlessly. He’s such a good balance of impulsive, proud, insecure boy and confident, capable man, and I look forward to seeing how he matures through the upcoming adventures… I like how you’ve set up this complex world system and made it feel very natural through Sagis’ eyes.

Ariel A.

It’s perfectly smooth and seamless. And exciting! It’s brilliant and beautiful.
